William “Bill” Spencer age 87 of Joplin, Mo passed to his heavenly home on November 28, 2020 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage, Mo. surrounded by his family.

Bill was born on December 10, 1932 in Verona, Mo to the late P.A. and Dorothy (Johnson) Spencer. Bill served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. While serving in the Navy, Bill went through electrical training. After his time in the Navy, he worked as a motor repairman and in building maintenance as an electrician. 

On April 8, 1954, Bill was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Seward. Together they raised three children, Cathy Kenny, and Roger. Bill and Mary enjoyed being members of the Missouri Campers Club and of the round dance square dance club. Bill also served as the secretary for the Diamond School Board.








Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Anabelle Stellwagen and Maxine “Mary” Spencer. He is survived by his wife Mary Spencer of the home, daughter Cathy Clark and husband Larry of Joplin, son Kenneth Spencer and wife Rebecca of Anderson, Mo., and son Roger Spencer and wife Patricia of Verona, Mo., grandchildren; Travis Clark and wife Elizabeth, April Thomure, April Lynn Spencer, Roger Spencer II, Kenneth Wayne Spencer, Hannah Marie Spencer, Tommy Holland, Rainey Saunders and husband John, and Tori Gibson; great-grandchildren, Lexus Clark, Liam Clark, Lucas Clark, Tabitha Spencer, Daytona Moore, Celica Moore, Tyler Fields, Spencer Fields, Julian Mountford, Mya Thomure, Quincy Thomure, Zena Holland, Gavin Holland, and Nathaniel Gibson, great great-grandchildren, Easton and Enslee Russell, one brother Louis Spencer and wife Delores, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and loved friends.

Funeral serviced have been scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Mason-Woodard Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, Bill’s family has asked for memorial contributions to be given to the Parkinson Foundation, in care of the mortuary.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
