(From Parker Mortuary)Betty L. (Flager) Bronson was born on July 29, 1933, to Lloyd and Ines Flager in McDonald County, Missouri. She entered into heavenly rest on November 24, 2020, after contracting the Coronavirus.
The second of seven children, she was educated at the Roller School and graduated from Washburn High School in 1953.
She found work in Joplin as a telephone operator when she met a handsome neighbor, Royal Bronson. They were married on August 7, 1954. Three children were born of this union: Rick (Kat) Bronson of Grove, OK., Beth Bronson and Chris (Joe) Naaykens of Joplin, all survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister. Additional survivors include: two sisters, Hazel Browning of Salt Lake City, UT, and Carol Bender of Sand Springs, OK.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was active with the Joplin Heights Baptist Church where she led Bible studies and the Vacation Bible Schools for many years. She was also active with the Order of Eastern Star where she held several local and state offices. She volunteered as Boy and Girl Scout Mom, received a Scouter’s Wife Award, was an Eagle Scout Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
A Memorial Service will be held at Joplin Heights Baptist Church at a time to be announced, with appropriate precautions in place. A private interment of cremated remains will be held at Osborne Cemetery in Joplin at a later date. Services are entrusted Parker Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Joplin Heights Baptist Church or the Vicki Bronson Scholarship Fund at Ozark Christian College.
