(From Parker Mortuary) Joyce Ann Thompson Rohr, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at St. Luke's in Carthage.
Joyce was born October 9, 1934 in Lima, Ohio, daughter of the late Wilbur Thompson and Edna Sevitz Thompson. She grew up in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and graduated from Mt. Gilead High School.
She married William E. Rohr on March 1, 1952 in Mt. Gilead, he survives. She worked with the Elections Office over the years in Carthage and Joplin. She was of the Methodist Faith.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Thompson and Mike Thompson.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Bill; children, Jana Lee Hunter and husband Elliott of Carthage, Bill R. Rohr and wife Karen of Joplin, Barry Rohr and wife Jennifer of Baxter Springs, Kansas, and Bryon Rohr and wife Tracy of Carthage; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Monday, November 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in Park Cemetery with Rev. Jeffery Bell officiating.
Funeral services are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the VFW, or the Carthage Humane Society.
