Bill Welton

Charles William “Bill” Welton, 76, of Joplin, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center with family by his side.

Bill was born January 20, 1944, in Joplin, Missouri, to the union of the late Arthur Welton and Jane (Lough) Welton. He was a graduate of Joplin High School. Following high school, Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Bill worked as a distribution manager for Fleming Foods for over 30 years. His career took him to several different areas of the country including Wichita, Kansas; Lansdale, Pennsylvania; Plano, Texas; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before returning to Joplin after retirement.








Bill was a true outdoorsman. He loved the serenity of the outdoors, fishing and playing golf. He took pride in taking care of his yard and had an annual war with the leaves. Over the years he created a beautiful landscape at his home. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

On July 15, 1967, Bill was united in marriage to Barbara Welton and together they shared 53 wonderful years. Barbara survives at the home.

In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his two brothers, Danny Welton and Michael Welton.

Bill is survived by his children, Brent Welton and wife, Cassidy, Haven Mauldin and husband, Greg; grandchildren, Madison Wren and husband, Zachary, Shelby Welton, Cole Mauldin; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at Parker Mortuary Chapel, with Doug Douthitt officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Webb City, with full military honors.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
