(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Vida Mae Johns, age 80, of Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away Friday November 6, 2020.
She was born July 23, 1940 in Flint, Michigan to Ervin and Della (Martin) Sanders.
Vida was a long time area resident. She was a member of First Christian Church in Carthage, Missouri. Vida worked as cashier for Wal-Mart for many years.
She married Thomas Edward Johns on December 21, 1959 and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Vida is survived by four daughters, Sharon Neale and husband Carl, Carl Junction, Missouri, Susan Johns, Carl Junction, Missouri, Shirley Wehmeyer and husband David, Carl Junction, Missouri, Sandra Richardson and husband Michael, Linn Valley, Kansas; one brother Charles Sanders, Arbor, Michigan; two sisters, Vera Griffth, Birmingham, Alabama, Katherine Lambur, Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends.
Those serving as pallbearers are, Cody Wehmeyer, Matthew Richardson, Skylr McDaniel, Gage Irwin, Blake Irwin, and Bruce Kruse.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday November 10, 2020 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary chapel with David Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:00 pm Monday November 9, 2020 at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to Children’s Mercy and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory Joplin, Missouri.
