(From Ozark Funeral Home)Doris Cooper, 89, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Magnolia Place in Rogers, Arkansas.
She began her journey on August 21, 1933 in May, Missouri, born to the late Roy and Pearl Mae (Guffey) Akehurst.
She married the love of her life, Bill Cooper on June 2, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. She was a beautician for over 60 years in Buna, Texas, Pineville, Missouri and Bella Vista, Arkansas.
Doris and her husband, Bill retired to Grove, Oklahoma where they enjoyed fishing on Grand Lake. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Doris dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also adored her caretakers at Magnolia Place and Circle of Life.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, Bill Cooper; son, Jimmy DeWayne Cooper; granddaughter, Cheyenne Saulter; brothers, Raymond Akehurst, Glen Akehurst and a sister, JoAnn Bolain.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Dyer and husband, Al of Corsicana, Texas, Denise Yanez and husband, JR of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; a brother, Bob Akehurst and wife, Cindy of Buna, Texas; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Doris.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Roller Cemetery in Powell, Missouri. Pastor Marilyn O’Brien will officiate.
