Richard Carley

Richard Loy Carley, age 71, Liberal, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin.

Richard was born June 18, 1951 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, son of the late Nathaniel Loy Carley and Cora Belle (Yocham) Carley. He grew up in Sapulpa where he graduated from High School before earning his Degree in Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. 









He was an elementary school teacher for 32 years with the Sand Springs, Oklahoma School District before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, and spent many hours on Tenkiller Lake and Grand Lake. He was devoted to his wife and loved spending the summer months with her and his family. After retiring, they moved to Liberal, Missouri where he enjoyed the friendships made at the Oakton Church where he attended.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Glenda (Hogeland) Carley and her children, Tracy Overman and husband Howard of Liberal, Charlotte Wrestler of Liberal, and Roger Wrestler and wife Amy of Carl Junction; grandchildren, Taylor Overman (Brooke), Ashley Cole (Jakeob), Brandon Overman, Allie Wrestler, and Riley Wrestler; great-grandchildren, Rhett Overman and Walker Overman; a brother, Don Carley and wife Linda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.








A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Oakton Church in Lamar, Missouri.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

Contributions to be made to Oakton Church through Parker Mortuary.
