Theresa Clifton

Theresa Johan Clifton, age 65, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at her home.

Theresa was born July 18, 1957 in Joplin, daughter of the late Harold Casey and Gayle (Patrick) Stover. She graduated from Webb City High School, and then began traveling the country. She lived in several different locations before returning to Joplin in 1989. 








She worked for several companies but most recently was a cashier with Snak-Atak on 26th street prior to the Joplin tornado. She was always there for others in need, and was especially fond of animals of all kinds, except chickens! She loved working on puzzles, fishing, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Clifton, stepbrothers, Mike Stover and Dean Stover; and her stepfather, Donald “Smokey” Stover.








Survivors include sons, Clovis Clifton of Joplin, William Clifton (Kaylee) of Lockwood, Missouri, Harold Clifton of Miami, Oklahoma; daughters, Bonnie Mullins and Crystal Woolsey both of Joplin; grandchildren, Amber Taylor (Justice Taylor), Whisper Doern (Wesley Doern), River Whitt, Catelyn Clifton, Madison Clifton, Roxanne Jarrell, Dean Jarrell, Sadie Clifton, Koda Clifton, Raylan Clifton, and Lyla Clifton; great-grandchildren, Lex Mullins and Joy Doerr; brother, Harold “Leroy” Casey (Teresa) of Karlstad, Minnesota; sister, Barbara Hubbard of Baxter Springs, Kansas; stepsister, Connie Tinney (Skip) of Bois D’Arc, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary with no formal services planned at this time.
