Zach Kelley

Zachary Scott Kelley, age 31, of Lamar, Missouri passed away December 13, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Zach was born October 16, 1991 in Joplin, Missouri to Scott Steward Kelley and Pamela Louise (Leer) Kelley. Zach graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 2011.

Zach worked at the Plaza Theater, you could always find him there running the concessions, from popping the popcorn, getting your drinks or running the cash register. 

He collected coins and you could often find him walking the square going from bank to bank in search of something new for his collection. He was that bright smiling face that would speak to everyone he encountered, his love for his community and family were unmatched. He was a huge Lamar Tiger Football fan and loved his Kansas City Chiefs. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Lamar.

Survivors include his parents, Scott and Pam; his sister, Shari Ann (Gabriel) Mendez, two nephews, Benjamin Mendez and Remington Mendez; two nieces, Sophia Mendez and Gabriella Mendez, and a new niece, Natalia Mendez due in March of 2023; and grandparents, Don Kelley (Nancy Jane Robertson).

Zach was preceded in death by his grandmother, Shari Kelley; grandparents, Joe and Freda Leer; great - grandparents, Lester and Dorothy Kelley and Bud and Lorene Moore; niece, Sydney Elena Mendez-Kelley and cousin, Matthew Leer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Lamar, MO.

The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcomed and made payable to Daniel Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
