Edna Yingst

Edna Rae (McVay) Yingst, 95, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2022. She was born in Stigler, Oklahoma, in 1927 and moved to Bentonville with her family at age 2, where she enjoyed a large family life as a young girl. She often recited stories of her adolescent years and enjoyed talking about what life was like in Bentonville during her youth. 

She married Warren Yingst in 1948 and was blessed with seven children. 

As a child and as an adult, her home was filled with laughter and music. She played the guitar and accordion and enjoyed singing. 








Throughout her life, Mrs. Yingst cherished her Christian faith. She was known as a prayer warrior and was a faithful member of Word of Life Fellowship in Bentonville, Arkansas, where she had many friends. She loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren who were the joy of her life. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren Yingst, of 49 years, and beloved daughter, Linda Hawkins.

She is survived by six of her seven children: son, Jerry Yingst, and daughter-in-law, Charlene, of Gravette, Arkansas; son-in-law, Buddy Hawkins, of Bentonville; daughter, Beverly Rogers, and son-in-law, Pastor Bill Rogers, of Bentonville, Arkansas; son, Buddy Yingst, and daughter-in- law, Mary Yingst, of Bentonville, Arkansas; daughter, Anita Rider, and son-in-law, Steve Rider, of Berryville, Arkansas; Stanley Yingst, and daughter-in-law, Shiela Yingst, of Jane, Missouri; Cheryl Barnes, and son-in-law, Stephen Barnes, of Gravette, Arkansas. In addition to her children, she is survived by nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and three great-great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Word of Life Fellowship in Bentonville, Arkansas, with Celebration of Life immediately following at 2:00 pm.
