Robert Smith

Robert Allen Smith, age 81, of Pierce City, MO passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his home. 

He was born in Wentworth, MO on Wednesday, April 30, 1941; son of Richard F. and Gladys (Hagebusch) Smith. He was a 1959 graduate from high school in New Mexico. He immediately joined the Navy where he served his Country. 

Mr. Smith married MaryAnn Wardenski on December 28, 1960, in San Francisco, CA. 

He was a deer hunter, enjoyed working on cars (everyone’s cars), and enjoyed seeing the Country as a truck driver. He loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the "Overcomers" motorcycle club. Family was so important to Mr. Smith. He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids in all school activities. Mr. Smith will be missed by many.

Surviving are the following: his wife, MaryAnn; two children, Stanley (Tracy) Smith of Wentworth, MO and LaRonda Wogoman of Monett, MO; one brother, Richard Smith of Kansas City, MO and one sister, Brenda Smith of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Brent (Elle) Smith, Santana Smith, Issac Smith, and Jacob Smith; four great-grandchildren, Julianna, Kamron, Rexton, and Wrenly; and other family members and friends.

Those welcoming him in heaven include his father, Richard F. Smith; mother, Gladys Hardy; a stepdad who raised him, William "Peachy" Hardy; and a son-in-law, John Wogoman.

The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Friday, December 30, 2022, beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Willie Brooks officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Van Buren Cemetery in Wentworth, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
