Max Alsdurf

Max Dean Alsdurf, age 86, of Carthage, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Max, son of the late Lee and Edna (Hood) Alsdurf, was born on September 15, 1936, in Anthony, KS. He moved to the Sarcoxie area at a young age and was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. Soon after he enlisted in the United States Navy. 

After serving his country honorably he returned to the area where he began his career with Schreiber Foods until his retirement after 35 years of dedication. 








Max was united in marriage to Betty Warner on February 25, 1963, in Miami, OK. He enjoyed baseball, horseshoes, and golfing. He was a proud veteran and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Alsdurf, of Carthage; his two children, Charles “Chuck” Alsdurf, of Carterville, and Debra Vogt, of Carthage; one sister, Imogene Johnson, of Neosho; one brother, Jerry Alsdurf, and his wife, Kathy, of Carthage; grandchildren, Brandi Hofnagle Simoins, of Atlanta, and Kierstin Perry, of Carthage; great grandchildren, Eleanor, Zaidyn, and Ryker; and several nieces and nephews.






 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie with burial to follow at Center Cemetery near Fidelity. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, December 27th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
