(From Ozark Funeral Home)Gary Lee Smith, 79, of Noel, Missouri passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at His residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born on August 8, 1943 in Winfield, Kansas, born to the late Lester Duke and Wanda Mae (Gunter) Smith. Gary married the love of his life, Ressa Leslie Sanders on December 4, 1982 in Noel, Missouri. He enjoyed working on hot rods and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed bird watching, fishing and going to the casino on occasion with his gambling buddy. Gary was an over the road truck driver for over 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lester Ray Smith and a grandson, Tyler Ward.
Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ressa Smith of the home; children, Levi Smith and partner, Megan Gregory of Anderson, Missouri, Taner Smith of Noel, Missouri, Gary Allen Jewett of Noel, Missouri, Sheila Jewett of Noel, Missouri, Jim Jewett and wife, Lisa of Fairland, Oklahoma, Jennifer Boyle and husband, Tony of Bentonville, Arkansas, Tammy Rowe and husband, Ricky of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nephew, Troy Moore and wife Brenda of Derby, Kansas; sister, Talma Faye Haynes of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Jacob Boyle, Jason Smith, Damien Smith, Neveah Surface, Reagen Smith, Justin Jr. Smith, Jimmy Jr. Jewett, Kortney Ward, Travis Ward, Skyler Smith and Kaleb Rowe; several great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Gary.
A Celebration of Life for Gary will be held at a later date.
