Lincoln Hughes

(From Ferry Funeral Home)

After a short and hard-fought battle with cancer, Lincoln Robert Hughes, 45, Nevada, MO went to be with the Lord on Christmas morning surrounded by his loved ones at his family farm. Lincoln was born December 18, 1977, in Nevada to Robert Lee Hughes and Sue Ellen Curry Hughes.

Lincoln was raised in the Milo area and graduated from Nevada High School in the Class of 1996. He knew from an early age that he wanted to be a farmer like his father and his grandfather.

Lincoln and his father operated Hughes Family Farms which has operations in Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas. He was featured in Fortune 500 magazine as a young leader in agriculture and was a part of the documentary depicting the life of an American Farmer called “Against the Grain”.

Lincoln had a great respect for nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends. There were lots of stories told and memories made about the deer camp, quail hunts & Lake of the Ozark’s boy’s weekends.

Lincoln had a huge heart and was always happy to help others and supported many organizations in the region including the Vernon County Youth Fair, Vernon County Cancer Relief, and The Children’s Center. When asked for help, it was common for him to simply say “how much do you need?”

Lincoln loved his family, with the union of his marriage to Trinnade Yount Hughes, they had three sons, Cody Maeson, Caleb Robert, and Cael Lincoln Hughes all of Nevada, MO. Also, he is survived by two granddaughters Hadley Mae and Hallie Jo Hughes of Nevada, MO.
