(From Parker Mortuary)Marilea “Dee” Stalcup, 90, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 24th, 2022 at Wildwood Senior Living.
Dee was born November 5th, 1932 in Iuka, Kansas, to Wendell and Molly (Hilton) Bales. She married the love of her life, Richard “Ken” Stalcup, on April 12th, 1952 at First Methodist Church in Iuka, Kansas. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past year.
Dee worked as a bookkeeper/secretary for the Husky Corporation in St. Louis, and in the First Baptist Church, United Methodist Church, the Baptist Convention in Jefferson City, Missouri and the Missouri State Legislature. She was gifted in teaching junior high and adult ladies bible classes, and completed the Bethel Bible Study Program. She enjoyed square dancing, sewing, quilting, puzzles, and card games. She loved traveling and camping all over the U.S. with Ken. Dee most of all though, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was adored and will be missed by many.
In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her son, Kurtis Reed Stalcup.

Dee is survived by her husband, Ken Stalcup; daughter, Sheri Carr (Michael) and their three children, Kristen Carr, Alec Carr, and Isaac Carr; daughter, Cindi Franklin (David) and their two children, Allison Franklin and Kurt Franklin; and a host of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made out to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or charity of choice.
Services are pending.
