Wayne King

J. Wayne King, 100, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at 6:45 am, December 27, 2022 at Webwood Assisted Living in Neosho, MO.

Wayne King was born May 23, 1922 in Litchfield, ILL the son of Everett and E. Marie (Roberts) King. 

Wayne moved to Seneca with his wife Margaret in 1948 to help set up the Milnot Plant. Wayne loved the area so much that he and Margaret decided to stay and make Seneca their home. 








Wayne loved the people of the Seneca Community and played a large role in the town growth. He was a past member of the Seneca Chamber of Commerce. He served on the Seneca School Board and he loved to help his fellow neighbors, friends and those in need. 

Wayne's pastime was the Ham Radio. He spent many hours talking to people all over the world on his Ham Radio. Wayne was a member of the Kadiddlehopper Ham Radio Group. 

In later years Wayne begin working in photography. He had an eye for taking the perfect picture. He loved to travel and took many pictures during his travels of nature scenes. His pictures are displayed in many homes and businesses. Wayne and Margaret loved to travel to Colorado taking in God's creation on every trip. Wayne was a faithful member of the Seneca United Methodist Church where he served in many positions.








Wayne King married Margaret Ann Swihart April 2, 1948 in Warsaw, IN and she preceded him in death September 22, 2021. He was also preceded in death by one brother Kenneth King.

Survivors include his children; John King and Kay, Neosho, MO, Janet McConnell and Bruce, Seneca, MO, Jim King and Russ, Romney, WV, Judy Rhinehart and Kevin, Joplin, MO, Sharon Pack and Tom, Dayton, OH and Violet Kannonuhwa, Atlanta, GA; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren and 2 on the way.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 7pm, Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Seneca Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Seneca Church of Christ with Jake King and Marilyn O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Josh King, Will King, Jake King, Arthur King, Aaron Arlington, Shay McConnell and Seth McConnell serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Claypool and Michael Steele.
