(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Jo Ann Morris, age 78 of Columbus, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
Jo Ann was born in Deadwood, South Dakota on January 7, 1944 to the union of Waldimir Dominic "Walt" Rolando and Maxine Elizabeth (Nelson) Rolando. She graduated from Lead High School with the class of 1962, and later attended College in Rapid City, South Dakota where she received a business degree.
She worked at Maude Norton Hospital in Columbus, KS for 20 years, retiring as a medical records transcriptionist in the mid 1990's.
She was united in marriage with Jeff L. Morris on December 30, 1964 at the Methodist Church in Lead, South Dakota. They spent nearly 58 years together living as followers of Jesus. He survives. Additional survivors include one son, David Morris of Joplin, MO; one daughter, Deanna Calvert of Wichita, KS; one brother, Nelson Rolando (wife, Florice) of Ekalaka, MT; sister-in-law, Susan Thomas of Temple, TX; and 4 grandchildren, Dane Crismas, Brooke Crismas, Alyssia Morris, and Morgan Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walt and Maxine Rolando; and in-laws Leonard and Bonnie Jean Morris.
Although no services are planned, Mrs. Morris will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery of Galena under the care of Derfelt Funeral Home.
