Mary Spencer

Mary Spencer, age 87, of Joplin, Missouri passed to her heavenly home on Tuesday December 6, 2022, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage, Missouri, with family by her side.

Mary was born on July 8, 1935 in Monett, Missouri to the late Kenneth and Alma (Mulkey) Seward.








She worked as waitress, seamstress, church secretary/treasure and for many years she worked at Sears and was known as the “Tool Lady”. Mary enjoyed being an instructor with her husband in round dancing and square dancing. She was also a member of the Missouri Methodist Campers Club. Mary had been a member of Royal Heights Methodist Church, St. James Methodist Church and currently 1st United Methodist Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Bill Spencer, November 20,2020.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Cathy Clark and husband Larry, Carl Junction, Missouri; two sons, Kenneth Spencer and wife Rebecca, Anderson, Missouri, Roger Spencer and wife Patricia, Verona, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Travis Clark and wife Elizabeth, April Thomure, April Lynn Daniels, Roger Spencer II and wife Maria, Kenneth Wayne Spencer, Hannah Marie Spencer, Tommy Holland, Rainey Saunders, and Tori Gibson; 14 great grandchildren, Lexus Clark, Liam Clark, Lucas Clark, Tabitha Spencer, Daytona Moore, Celica Moore, Tyler Fields, Spencer Fields, Julian Mountford, Mya Thomure, Quincy Thomure, Zena Holland, Gavin Holland, and Nathaniel Gibson; two great great grandchildren, Easton and Enslee Russell;one sister, Betty Ann Ball and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.








Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday December 12, 2022, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary with Roy Teed minister officiating. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 am Monday prior to the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory Joplin, Missouri.
