(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Donna Pauline Hodson, 88, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday evening, July 9, 2023, at National Health Care Center in Joplin, after a brief battle with cancer.
Donna entered this life on September 27, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Edwin Paul Hitchcock and Devota Helen Major. She was raised and attended schools in Webb City and Alba, Missouri.
On November 11, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald Frederic Hodson and to this union two sons were born, Bruce and Lance. Donna was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, knitting projects, music and classic movies as well as an avid follower of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Kansas City Royals, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of nearly seventy years, Donald Hodson on November 6, 2021; and a son Lance Clayton Hodson.

Donna is survived by one son, Bruce Hodson and wife, Becky, of Joplin; and two grandchildren, Haley Hodson of Webb City and Zak Hodson and wife, Ashley, of Joplin.
Graveside services are 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin with Pastor Jim Bowles officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
Donna was a sweet lady. I visited her not as much as I should have. I loved her holiday tree like Valentines and the months. Oh and all her teddy bears. Thoughts and prayers to the whole family ❤️❤️❤️
