Peggy Mullin

Peggy Jean Mullin, 82, of Anderson, Missouri passed away on July 10, 2023 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

She was born on May 16, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri to the late, Olis Earl and Ruby Irene (Wyrick) Barker. Peggy married Ronald Joe Mullin on July 16, 1980 in Pineville, Missouri. She was a homemaker; enjoyed crocheting Afghans and was an avid reader. Peggy’s third great grandfather was a Cherokee Indian Chief, Nathan “Cheesesquire” Kirkland, who is on record in the Smithsonian Institute.






 

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jeffrey Alan McLean; brother, Arthur Barker and a sister, Helen Anderson.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Joe Mullin of the home; two sons, Dennis Mullin and Darin Mullin, both of Neosho, Missouri; a brother, Olis Earl Barker II of Neosho, Missouri; sisters, Phyllis Thornton and Carol Lee Scribner, both of Neosho, Missouri; several grandchildren; great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Peggy.






 

Funeral service for Peggy will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Leo Lenze will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. 

Those honoring Peggy’s Life by serving as pallbearers are Greg O’Brien, Shea O’Brien, Dennis Mullin, Darin Mullin, Trey Barker and Travis Scribner. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Barker and Don Schlessman. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home on Thursday, July 13, 3023. The family receive friends at this time.
