Dan Righter

Daniel Robert Righter Sr., 72, of Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, in his home in Nevada, Mo. Dan was born Aug. 1, 1950, in Springfield, Mo., to Leonard "Pete" and Opal Righter.

Dan graduated from Nevada High School in 1968. Following high school, he attended Missouri State University. Dan was a parts manager at C.A. White Motors and Brown Ford in Nevada, Mo. He moved to Camdenton, Mo., in 1989, and worked at Ozark Ford in Camdenton, Mo., until 2001. Dan was retired and worked at the Nevada Daily Mail up until his death.

Dan was a member of the Nevada Elks Lodge for several years. Dan loved to hunt and fish. He was known for his woodworking and mechanical skills, as well as helping anyone who needed something.








Survivors include his children, Dan Righter Jr. and his wife, Angela, of Camdenton, Mo., Jefferson James Righter and his wife Alisha, of Buffalo, Mo., and Misty Jones and her husband Tony, of Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren including Morgan, Taylor, Lydia, Katie, Emily, Sydney, Jaden, and Brooklyn; great-grandson, Colt; soon-to-be great-granddaughter, Amiyah; siblings, Joe Righter of Ripley, Ohio, Barbara Lavell of Murrieta, Calif., Pat Jackson of Nevada, Mo., and Doug Righter of Golden City, Mo.

He was preceded in death his parents, Pete and Opal; brother, Peter Jefferson Righter; and Diane Nicolaou.

Celebration of Life services will be held from noon to 2 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, Mo., on Saturday, July 29. Contributions may be made in Dan's memory to his surviving dog, Boney P., to the family, in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
