Jim Greenlee

James Edward Greenlee, Age 86, also known as “Grandpa” to many of his friends. Met his Heavenly Father on Saturday September 9, 2023 at his home in Shell Knob, Missouri, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born October 14, 1936 in Joplin, Missouri. At an early age he began caddying with his brothers, which led to a lifelong passion for golf. Many of his days were spent on the links and on the lake where also enjoyed fishing. In addition to golf and fishing, Jim was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan and loved to sing Karaoke and had his own Karaoke machine at his home.








Jim was a member of the Shell Knob Eagles Lodge and the Senior Center. He was also a lifetime member of the Joplin Elks Lodge.He retired from Jones Truck Lines and was a member of the Teamsters Union of which he was proud to serve as a Union Steward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marjorie Silvey; two brothers, Floyd and Donald; one sister, Edith Mae, and one son, Michael.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Connie Hatfield and husband Tom; two granddaughters, Kristi Bass and husband Murrell, Kim Shaner and husband Brian; six great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; significant other, Janet Horine.








Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday September 15, 2023 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary with Roger Beach officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:00 pm Thursday at the mortuary.

A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held 3:00-5:00 pm September 20, 2023 at the Senior Center in Shell Knob, Missouri.

Funeral services are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory Joplin, Missouri.
