Garrett Cooper

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Garrett Chanse Cooper, 29 of Goodman passed away on January 4th at his family farm in Goodman, MO.

Garrett was born in Joplin, MO on February 14 1994 to Rowdy and Michelle Cooper. He lived in Goodman and attended Neosho High School, moving his Senior year to Sweetwater OK. Graduating top 5 of his 2012 class. He was currently employed at L&M Construction Neosho, MO.

Garrett spent his childhood playing baseball, fishing and hunting, making lifelong friendships and memories with many. He grew up to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Backroading, listening to music, bonfires, playing guitar, looking for treasures that others would consider “junk”, all things nature, coaching his daughters in softball and them winning first place in the County Softball Tournament. He took pride watching them love the sport as much as he did. Uncle Bubba enjoyed always giving his Nieces and Nephews a hard time and protecting the underdog.

Garrett was preceded in death by his grandparents Ivan” Bud” and Rolla Cooper, Larry McGranahan, and his forever fishing buddy and great-grandfather Boppo (Clifford Ellis).

Garrett is survived by his cherished daughters Hallie and Ellison Rowdy Cooper and their sister Gracelyn. His parents Rowdy and Michelle Cooper. His sister(sissy) Ashton Cooper. Nieces Paisley and Daysie, Nephews Cash and Clayton McLean-all of Goodman MO. Grandparents Bob and Terry Cargile, Great Grandmother Darlene Ellis. Uncle and Aunt-Clay and Jamie McGranahan(Rogersville), Scott and Roxie Barnes(Goodman). Cousins- Connor, Austen, Holly, Jacob, Brett, Kyla. Many childhood memories were spent together.

Garrett had family from Wisconsin, Texas, Oklahoma to Goodman. He had friends everywhere he would go. All will miss his smile, silly random jokes and useless knowledge-and we are all better for knowing him-may his love for the simple things in live cause us all to pause and enjoy the world around us.

Memorial contributions in memory of Garrett may be given to benefit his children in care of the funeral home.
