(From Ferry Funeral Home)Fritz Theodore Koopmann, known to many as Junior, 83, Deerfield, MO passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Fritz was born January 4, 1941, in Deerfield, MO to Fritz Wilhelm Emil and Leola Anna Marie (Breitbarth) Koopmann.
He married the love of his life Sharon Lynne Clark on June 18, 1965 in Nevada, MO and together they celebrated 59 years of marriage.
Fritz was raised in Deerfield and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1959. A few days later, following graduation, he joined the US Army where he served for three years and was stationed in Germany for a time. Following his time in the military, he returned home to the family farm and began farming and never quit. His vocation and avocation were the same – farming. Fritz loved the Lord, studying the word, and was always ready to learn more. He was a longtime member of the Clayton Christian Church and attended First Christian Church in Nevada for the past several years. On March 21, 1971, he and Sharon were baptized at the Rinehart Christian Church. Fritz was a man known for his honesty.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of the home; two children, Theodore Lee Koopmann (Dawn), Webb City, MO, and Susan Christine Beltz (Matt), Deerfield, MO; three grandchildren, Alexander Koopmann, Aryn Decker, and Tess Decker. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale Koopmann; and two sisters, Shirley Earll, and Jolene Koopmann.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with David Fish officiating. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, MO. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested in his name to Ozark Christian College or the Show-Me Youth Home c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
