Joseph Cletus Batson, 84 of Quapaw, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at his home.

Joe was born March 2, 1940 in Riverside, California to the union of Roy Paul and Mary Katheryn (Levers) Batson. Joe was united in marriage to Deborath Ann (Jones) Batson on September 2, 1983 in Miami, OK. 

Joe worked for the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, KS, retiring in 2010. Joe enjoyed fishing, watching old western movies, spending time with his family and friends and loved when the family would gather for greasy taco nights.

Joe is preceded in death by his wife Deborath Batson; daughter, Pamela Faatiliga; son, Chris Etter; step-son, William Gideon; granddaughter, Paula; grandson, Nicholas.

Joe is survived by one daughter, Wilhelmina Braman of Joplin, MO; son, Joe Etter (Cathy) of California; son-in-law, Rick Faatiliga; stepson, Jay Sneed (Teresa); “Papa Joe” to: Amee, Joshua (Kate), Madysen, Joe (Amanda), Candice (Sean), Brooke (Ross), Chelsea, Kaycee (Jared), Coty Allen (Alexandra), Caliegh Jo Taylor (Jeremy), Morgan Braman (Jason), Remington Taylor, Chapel Braman, Boston Braman, Kaleigh Cox, and Cami Bush; along with numerous great grandchildren.

Memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Pastor Wes Davis will officiate. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
