(From Simpson Funeral Home)With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lucille Elizabeth Bailey, a beacon of warmth, love, and kindness in our lives.
Born on September 3, 1948, in Webb City, Missouri, Lucille was a woman of strength, resilience, and unending grace. Her journey on this earth ended on August 2, 2024, but her spirit, and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
Lucille's life was marked by her dedication and passion. She spent 40 years working as a cook at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, where she was known for her warm smile and comforting meals. Her retirement in 2017 didn't slow her down, as she continued to find joy in preparing meals for family gatherings and special occasions.
Lucille was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Kennedy, her mother Lucille Kennedy and her sister Leanna Kennedy. She was widowed when her husband, John Bailey, passed away on July 13, 2022. The love they shared was a testament to their commitment and mutual respect, a bond that remained unbroken to the end.
Lucille is survived by her children, Travis Bailey, Michelle Rooffener and her husband David Rooffener, and Elizabeth Bailey, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchild Joran Bailey, Lora Rooffener, Jonathan Brown, Steven Rooffener, and Jasper Brown. They will forever cherish her memory.
