(From Maupin Funeral Home)Sharon R. Hix, 76, of Fulton, passed away at her home on July 27, 2024.
She was Born on November 15, 1947 to the late Ray Johnson and the late Jessie "Pauline" Miller.
Throughout her life, Sharon faced many hardships but never wore a frown. She was known for her unwavering strength, her wit, and her unique, classy yet sassy personality. Sharon was an outspoken individual who always stood up for what she believed in. She had a passion for music and loved karaoke. She cherished the moments spent singing with her grandchildren and friends; making countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Sharon's professional life was equally remarkable. In her younger years, she built a successful career in sales for Carpet One and South Dakota Furniture Mart in Sioux Falls, SD. Her dedication and talent earned her the position of lead salesperson for the region, a role she held for nearly five years. Her work ethic and determination were evident in every endeavor she undertook.
In 2000, Sharon moved to Calwood, MO, with her mother, seeking new opportunities and adventures. Over the years, she held various positions that showcased her versatility and commitment to her community. She worked in security at the Dollar General Warehouse, the Fulton Bus Barn, and Walmart.
Additionally, she enjoyed driving shuttles for the University of Missouri in Columbia, where she became a familiar and friendly face to many. Sharon's life was a testament to resilience and determination. Her ability to find joy and humor, even in challenging times, was an inspiration to those around her. She will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and her unwavering spirit. Sharon will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Sharon was a devoted family member and is survived by her sons, Jack and Todd Cook, of Fulton; daughter, Wendy Yanacheak of Fulton; Grandchildren Mindy Cook, Largo, FL, Anthony Hubert (Brittany) of Houston, TX, Allison Barlow (Cory) of Houston, TX, Wesley Yanacheak of Climbing Hill, IA, Jaqlynn Molle of Granby, MO, Dawn Cook of Fulton, MO, Randy Cook of Fulton, MO, and two great-grandchildren Rindi R Bazer of Largo, FL and Anthony F. Hubert III of Houston, TX.
She was predeceased by her brother, David Johnson of St. Louis, MO; daughter Dawn Hubert; son in-law, Tony Hubert of Salix, IA, mother, Jessie P. Miller "Pauline", and her father, Ray Johnson of Piedmont, MO.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
