(From Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary)
Betty L. Bennish, 66, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, April 25, 2016, in the comfort of her home, after a twenty month battle with cancer.
Betty was born on September 7, 1949, in Joplin, Missouri, to the late Earl and Gladys (McFerron) Reynolds and was a lifelong resident of the Joplin and Carl Junction area. She retired in 2010 from FAG Bearings after thirty-nine years of employment. Betty's path in life was not always an easy one, but she will be remembered for how she chose to make the best of it. Not being one to complain or seek attention, she was happiest just doing the simple things in life. She believed in being a hard worker and loyal friend. Anyone who knew Betty, knew of her deep dedication and love of animals. Any stray that she found, didn't stay one for long.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Gary Reynolds.
She is survived by her son, David Bennish and wife, Holly, of Carl Junction, Missouri; her four grandchildren, Lindsey, Michael, Matthew and Christopher; as well as her extended family and friends.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mark Skelley and his staff at Mercy Oncology; the Mercy Infusion Center-Joplin; and Mercy Hospice-Joplin. We cannot say enough about how wonderful each and every one of you are. You showered Betty with such compassion and kindness, and for that, we will be forever grateful. We know that she is now "Doing pretty well ~ Thank you."
