Howard Bennett

Howard Lee Bennett, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO at the age of 84 years.

He was born on January 4, 1932 in Dade County, MO to Lloyd Riley and Cora Wandath (Dill) Bennett. Howard served his county in United States Army during the Korean War. Howard was united in marriage to Evelina Juanita Gaddis on July 24, 1949 in Greenfield, MO. He retired as a Deputy Sheriff for the Dade County Sheriff’s Office. Howard was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and the Greenfield American Legion Post #47.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Lloyd and Cora Bennett; his wife, Evelina Bennett; one brother, George Melvin Bennett; and one sister, Jewell Bennett.

Survivors include his son, Howard Allen Bennett and his wife Terry of Joplin, MO; one sister, Joyce Killingsworth and her husband Herman of Webb City, MO; three grandchildren, Joshua Barnhart and his wife Melissa of Union, MO, Nathan Bennett of Joplin, MO, and Jeramiah Bennett of Joplin, MO; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Miller of Pleasanton, KS, DeeAnna Bowers of Rogers, AR, Tori Barnhart of Union, MO, and Gabe Barnhart of Union, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be shared at www.greenfieldfuneralchapel.com.
