Christopher David Nielson, age 40, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Friday May 13, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., following an illness.
Christopher was born on January 12, 1976 in Joplin. He has been a resident of Joplin most of his life. He graduated from Lincoln Community High School, Lincoln, Il. a member of the class of 1994. He worked as the lead mechanic for XPO formerly Conway Trucking Company. He worked for Sitton from 1996 to 2009. He was a Ham Radio Operator License # KDOYBM, and enjoyed fishing and shooting with his daughter.
Christopher married Sabrina Mailes on October 5, 1996 in Joplin and she survives. Also surviving is their daughter, Abbie Nielson, of the home; his parents, David and Genie Nielson, Joplin; one brother, Joe Nielson and wife Erica, Oronogo, Mo.; and sister-in-law Tracy Nielson, Joplin; and nieces and nephews, Cooper, Laney, Sydney, Grace, and Rachel. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Nielson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at a time of visitation 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
