Thurman “Mouse” Hilton, 90, passed away Monday May 23, 2016 at his home in Carthage, MO.
Thurman was born May 22, 1926 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Isac Robert Hilton and Janie Bell Blurton. He was a lifetime Carthage area resident and worked for Carthage Marble for 19 years and International Multi-Foods for 19 years. Thurman was a lifetime member of the VFW Post # 2590 of Carthage. Thurman served in the United States Army in WWII and Korea.
Thurman was united in marriage to Mary Louise Shirley April 17, 1955 in Ava, Missouri she survives. Thurman is survived by Nancy Day and Husband Steve of Dallas Texas, Linda Hammond and Husband Jim of Carthage, MO, one son Steve Hilton and Wife Krista of Milton Florida. Ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday May 27, 2016 at Park Cemetery, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:00am Friday prior to services at Ulmer Funeral Home. Contributions can be made to the Carthage VFW Post #2590 Relief Fund or Hospice Compassus of Lamar in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
