Orbie Don Payton , age 84 of Neosho, Mo., passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016, at a local nursing facility following an illness.
Orbie was born on September 19, 1931 in Gravette, Ar., the son of Harry and Elma Lukens Payton. He has been a lifetime area resident, Orbie worked as a baker for Safeway Bakery for thirty plus years, and retired in 1993.
He married Pauline Mays on June 11, 1960,in Gravette, she preceded him in death in 2001. Survivors include one Daughter -in-law; Kristi Payton of Carl Junction, Mo., 3 grandchildren; McKinzie, Bradlie and Morgan. One sister, Lola Thomason of Clinton Township, Mi., a niece and a nephew.
The family would like to thank the staff of Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center especially Amanda, Amber, Emily and Kevin for their kindness and care.
Memorial graveside services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
