Darlene Blaukat

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Darlene Ann Blaukat, age 79, of Joplin, Mo., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2016, at her home, following an illness.

Darlene was born on January 1, 1937 in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of the late John Woodrow Randolph and Gertrude Minnie (Richardson) Randolph. She graduated from Joplin High School. She married William Kirk Blaukat on November 25, 1957 in Joplin. Together they raised two children. She was a past member of Peace Lutheran Church. She worked as the office manager for Tri-State Import Cars and retired in 1996 after twenty-nine years of service to stay at home and baby-sit her granddaughter, Carly, who was her pride and joy.

Dar, as she was called by many, had no enemies. To say she was adored, admired, cherished, highly regarded, well liked and loved by all who knew her was an understatement. She was a beautiful person both inside and out. She was a wonderful loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the most unselfish, loving and caring person always putting others before her own needs. She had a very positive attitude and will always be remembered for her wonderful smile. She was a positive role model for her children, family, and everyone else who was lucky to have known her. She was kind and generous. She loved to give you something when you were walking out the door. She enjoyed life and was loved by her many friends. She will be missed by all. This should not be a sad time because she was not a sad person.

She is survived by her husband William Kirk Blaukat, Joplin; son, Randolph Kirk Blaukat, Joplin; daughter, Cindy Blaukat Crossland and husband Rick, Faucett, Mo.; and granddaughter, Carly Blaukat Sizemore; Three sisters, Margie Ellis, Joplin, Pam Eaton and husband Jim, Overland Park, Ks., and Debbie Randles and husband Dave, Oronogo, Mo.; Teresa Estes, Joplin, whom she loved as a daughter; and many nieces and nephews.

Darlene will be cremated with services to be planned at a later date. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Blaukat home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Muscular Dystrophy Association .

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
