Bill Towery

William ‘Bill’ Dennis Towery, 86, Neosho, died May 30, 2016 at Medicalodge in Neosho, following a lengthy illness.

 Bill was born January 1, 1930 in Independence, Kansas, the son of Arthur and Ruby (White) Towery. He graduated from Independence, Kansas High School and served in the U.S. Navy, 1947-1949. He then moved to Wichita, Kansas where he worked at Boeing. In March, 1958 he moved to Neosho and worked at Talbot Wire until retiring in 1998. Following his retirement from Talbot Wire, he owned and operated a machine shop at his home until 2013. He was a precision machinist and loved to work and help others. Bill was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho and had served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years and sang in a gospel quartet for 25 years. He was a Godly man and loved to serve the Lord.

 Bill married Roberta Ransbottom on February 28, 1949 in Independence, Kansas and she survives of the home. Additional survivor include two children, Gale Towery and wife, Debbie Ann of Norman, Oklahoma and Debbie Towery of Neosho; four grandsons, Ricky Crawford, Ryan Crawford, Travis Towery and Craig Towery; great grandchildren, Grace, Elijah, Rachel, Ryan, Mallory, Drake, Kamrynn, Kyla, Maggie, Peyton and Devyn and a brother, K. O. Towery of Cascade Locks, Oregon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Janis Kirk, grandson, Baby Kirk and brother, Dan Towery.
 
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO
