Jeffery Allan Close, age 48 of Joplin passed away Saturday May 7, 2-16 at his home. He was born on September 14, 1967 at St Vincent’s Hospital in Monett, Mo. Jeff graduated from Nevada High School, Nevada, Mo in 1986. He was in the high school band, and got to march in the Orange Bowl Parade in Dallas, Tx his senior year. Jeff served in the Navy on the USS Midway CV-41. He always enjoyed meeting new people and was very friendly. Jeff worked in lawn care. He will be missed by family and friends.
He is survived by a daughter of Oklahoma, his parents Mary Daugherty of Rockport, Tx , Father Bill Close and wife Phyllis of Springfield, Mo, two brothers: Aaron Close and wife Amy of Republic, Mo and Rob close and wife Bridgett of Springfield, Mo, several aunts and uncles and a host of cousins.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday May 14, 2016 at Washburn Prairie Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Gideons International.
