Les M. Scheurich, age 65 of Joplin, Mo., passed away early Saturday, May 7, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.
Les was born on February 15, 1951 in Joplin, the son of Mark and Mary (Nesbitt) Scheurich. He has been a lifetime area resident, Les owned and operated Midwest Tool Inc. since 1990. He was a member of the Joplin Elks Lodge #501. In his younger days he enjoyed drag racing with Terry Ivey. Les also enjoyed fishing trips around the globe, golf trips to Laughlin, Nv. and taking his ’61 Corvette to car shows.
He married Linda Word on November 20, 1970, she survives. Additional survivors include one son; Kristoffer Mark Scheurich and wife Katie of Carl Junction, Mo., one daughter; Kelly Ann Stephan and husband Sean of Bentonville, Ar., one sister; Jane Broadwater and husband Larry of Joplin, and five grandchildren; Kole, Kaden, Riley, Kennah and Karrah. Les was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
