Neil Wayne Leivan, 58, Newtonia, died May 19, 2016 at the home of his daughter, Andi Russell, in Springfield, following a lengthy illness.
He was born September 23, 1957 in Lamar, Missouri, the son of John Roscoe and Norma Jean (Cook) Leivan. Neil was a lifelong area resident and had worked as a self-employed electrician. He loved old cars, fishing and being on the lake.
Neil married Karen Sue Wilson and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2014. He is survived by his mother, Norma Leivan of Neosho; three daughters, Andi Russell of Springfield, MO, Tabitha Turner of Joplin, MO and Jeana Wilken of Rogers, AR; step son, Sean McClelland of Newtonia, MO; two sisters, Janet Leivan of Neosho, MO and Cathy Brazeal of Alabama and nine grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Neil is preceded in death by his father.
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Newtonia IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from noon until 1:45 p.m., prior to the service, at Clark Funeral Home in Granby.
