Dennis R. Bevington, 61, Purcell, Mo., passed away Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Carthage. Dennis Ray Bevington was born May 30, 1954 in Granite City, IL to the late Van Bevington and Vera (Bailey) Bevington. Dennis graduated from East St. Louis High School, Class of 1972. Following high school, he entered the U.S. Navy in 1974. He went on to work as a traffic clerk for Schreiber’s for 34 years, retiring in October of 2012. During that time, Dennis married Terrie Ralston on May 31, 1990 in Eureka Springs, AR; she survives. He loved gardening, fishing, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include his wife, Terrie, one brother, Mike Bevington (wife Jean), O’Fallon, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Knell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2016 at Knell Mortuary. Minister Steve Snyder will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Fullerton Cemetery, Carthage. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
