John Dyer

John Dyer, 73 passed away May 4, 2016 at Freeman Hospital, 

John was born June 3, 1942 in Carthage, Missouri to John Calvin Dyer and Nadine (Russell) Dyer. John was a Carthage High School graduate class of 1960. John served in the Missouri National Guard for 43 years from 1959 to 2002, he served in the Vietnam and Gulf War, and he retired with a Rank of CW2. He was a member of the Webb City Elks Lodge # 861 and was a past exalted ruler, the American Legion and a Mason. John was a maintenance supervisor at MSSU. 

John was united in marriage to Peggy Dyer and to this union they had four sons Jimmy Dyer of Bentonville, AR, Steven Dyer of Bentonville, AR, Andrew Dyer of Moberly, MO and John Clyde Dyer who preceded him in death. John is survived by a very dear and dedicated friend, companion and dance partner Sue Davidson. John is survived by six grandchildren Madison Dyer, Devon Dyer, Preston Draisy, Rylan Draisy, Bella Draisy and Bronson Reece Dyer. Three sisters Jodi Kyte, Carol Dyer, and Lawanna Lovecamp, and one brother David Dyer all of Carthage. Four nephews’ one niece and nine great nieces and nephews. 

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday May 13, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday May 12, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery with full military honors. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
