Gene Brownlow Williams, age 79, Joplin, passed away at 11:53 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Freeman Hospital.
Gene was born August 14, 1936 in Logan, Utah to the late James Williams and Elizabeth Black Williams and had lived in Joplin the past two years moving from Oklahoma.
He worked as a latherer for over 40 years and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Gene was also a past member of the V.F.W.
Gene married Doris E. Dessell on December 9, 1992 in Humble, Texas. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Limberg and Jeannie Guzman, both of Texas; a step son, Curtis Lacombe; a step daughter, Rachel O'Ryan; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Services are planned for Wednesday at Noon at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Logan Reynolds, John Goins, Zack Lacombe, Curtis Lacombe, Leroy Martin and Greg Whissett. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
