Betty Lehar

Betty Jo Troupe Lehar, age 89, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Lacoba Homes in Monett, MO. 

 Betty was born on a farm in Miami County, KS on February 22, 1927, to Glenn Elwood and Alice Glendola (Mills) Good. She had three siblings, including sisters, Frances and Romalea and a brother, Ellis Jean (E.J.). She grew up in Amsterdam, MO and graduated from high school in 1944 as salutatorian of her class. She was a homemaker and also spent many years in the banking business, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church and was very active in her Sunday school class, The Christian Builders, until moving to Monett in Nov. 2015 to be closer to her daughter. 

 She is survived by her children, Connie (Corwine) Ferguson and husband, John of Ozark, MO; Gail (Corwine) Ellis and husband, Dale of Monett, MO and Lyne (Troupe) Bacon of Troutdale, OR; five grandchildren, John Hamilton of Ozark, MO; Julie (Ferguson) Wolfe of Anna, TX; Erin (Ellis) Downing of Springfield, MO; Matthew Bacon and Natalie Bacon, both of Troutdale, OR. She was also proud of her four great grandchildren, Dylan Hamilton, Kristan Hamilton and Ryan Hamilton of Ozark and Ellie Wolfe of Anna, TX. She is also survived by a sister, Romalea Miller of Pleasanton, KS; stepdaughters, Diane Dykman and Jo Fostich of Neosho, MO and close friend, G. W. Trenary of Joplin, MO, as well as nieces, nephews and good friends. She is preceded in death by husband, Lawrence Eugene Troupe, son, Douglas Eugene Troupe, parents, sister, Frances Teagarden and brother, E.J. Good. Betty’s wishes were to be cremated. 
 
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
