Barbara Sue White, age 75, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Mercy of Joplin.
Barbara was born April 9, 1943 in Joplin, daughter of the late Marvin C."Bud" Grow and Lela D. "Dutch" Carpenter Grow. She grew up in Joplin and operated a home cleaning business in Joplin for years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved being with her. She was always planning family gatherings, and loved spending time with family and friends, especially dancing. She also enjoyed quite time watching nature, especially watching the birds she constantly fed. She will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by long time companion, Brian Halvorson; siblings, Betty Stott, Marvin Grow, Donna Fay Barwick, Rebecca Couch, Jack Grow, and twins Dorothy and Doris Grow.
Survivors include her children, Dorothy Shoemaker and husband Randy of Webb City, Missouri, Audra Lowery and husband Donnie of Joplin, Ira White and wife Vickie of Carl Junction, Missouri, and Marvin White and wife Michelle of Neosho, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Phil Erwin officiating. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
