Darrel Max Shelton of rural Carthage, passed away after a short illness on Saturday, July14, 2018 at Freeman West Hospital. Darrel was born on July 3, 1952 at Wichita, Kansas to Glen and Ardis Shelton. He was a 1970 graduate of Sarcoxie High School. Darrel moved to Wichita soon after graduation where he resided until moving to Carthage in 2006. Darrel was a truck driver and a member of the Avilla United Methodist Church.
Darrel is survived by his life companion, Patricia hull of the home. One son, Tim Shelton of the state of Kansas. One brother, Howard Shelton(Marsha) of Wichita, Kansas. One sister, Glenda Irwin (Jim) of Carthage, Missouri. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews , and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Ardis Shelton.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Avilla Cemetery. Reverend David Cook will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Avilla Cemetery or the Carthage Humane Society.
