Charles H. Seward, age 90, of Webb City, Mo. passed away at 8:36 a.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin. Charles was born September 15, 1927 in Joplin and was a lifetime area resident. He was employed as a truck driver with the former Sunshine Biscuit Co. and later worked for Seward Insulation Co. He was an avid fisherman.
Charles is survived by one daughter, Joyce Elkins, Webb City, five brothers, John Seward (Patty) and Ron Seward (Mary) all of Webb City, Jack Riggs, (Rose), Paducah, Ky., Rick Seward (Peggy), Duenweg, and Bill Seward (Kathy), Joplin, three sisters, Ruth Cogbill, Webb City, Shirley Kellogg (Jim), Stockton, Ca. and Patsy Passantino (Joe), Grove, Ok., three grandchildren, ,Justin Elkins, Jason Elkins (Cassandra), and Marci Shofler (Eric), six great grandchildren, Jacob Charles Elkins, Lori Jane Elkins, Ally Morris (Dustin), Gabe Walters,
Katynce Alyse Shofler, and Brayten Micheal Shofler, and three great great grandchildren, Quintyn, Cole and Harper Morris. He was preceded in death by a son in law, Loy Elkins, two sisters, Charlotte Jones, and Alice Townsend, and three brothers, Kenny and Jack Seward and Jessie Riggs.
Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Rev. Johnnie Wilkins officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Following cremation, burial will be in the Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
