Raymond Art "Rudy" Gardner, age 91, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Adams Street Place Nursing Center in Jefferson City, Missouri with family at his side.
Rudy was born November 10, 1926 in Joplin, one of 12 children born to Ira Gardner and Elizabeth Faulkner Gardner.
He attended Joplin High School, and then served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for over 20 years before retiring. He was a member of Blendville Christian Church, and A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #335.
In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his six brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Joan Gardner; daughter, Debbie Frala and her husband Ron; grandson, Brian Frala and wife Heather; great-granddaughter, Maddi Gil all of Jefferson City; numerous nieces and nephews including his good friend and nephew, Jim Gardner and wife Teresa of Holiday Island, AR. and a special niece, Kathie Brooks and husband Jim of Liberty; nephew Steve Gardner and wife Margo; and nephew Rick Wiseman and wife Carol of Joplin.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Larry Richardson, Minister officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Van Fund of Blendville Christian Church, Joplin.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
