Byron Albert Frederick, age 93, Diamond, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Freeman Health System, Neosho.
Byron was born February 13, 1925 in Westport, Minnesota to the late Lawrence Frederick and Lulu Judkins Frederick and had lived in Minneapolis; Los Angeles, Phoenix, El Paso, and Las Cruces, New Mexico before settling in the Joplin area.
He was a graduate of the Graduate School of Trust Banking and Financial Planning College. Byron worked thirty eight years in the financial industry as a certified financial planner.
Byron was a six-year veteran of the United States Army, serving in both the United States and in Japan as a member of the military police and counter intelligence agent. He was a private pilot; motorcyclist; enjoyed fishing and did volunteer work for Freeman Hospital.
He married Lou Heckmaster on July 24, 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son; two daughters; a brother and several grandchildren.
Byron will be interred at Fayetteville (Arkansas) National Cemetery at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
