Wanda Sue Hylton, age 69, Joplin, passed away at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at her home after an illness.
Wanda was born February 19, 1949 in Joplin to the late Paul Loyd Hodges and Nancy Pearl Perkins Hodges and had lived in Joplin all of her life.
She worked in environmental services at St. John's Regional Medical Center for 19 years, retiring in 2012. Prior to that, Wanda was a child caregiver in her home.
Wanda loved her family and enjoyed every minute she spent with them. They took trips to the lake to go fishing, played games and went to the local casinos. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Wanda married Garry Hylton on February 25, 1966 in Joplin. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Bryan Hylton and wife, Anna, Carl Junction; a daughter, Christy Simpson, Joplin; grandchildren, September, Brittany, Madison, Christopher, Cheyenne, Ethan, Kim, Eric, Mia; and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by a great grandson, Dylan.
A visitation is planned for Saturday from 7-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
