Carolyn Helen McLean, age 75, Galena, Kansas, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 in Joplin.
Carolyn was born March 30, 1943 in Independence, Missouri, daughter of the late Fred E. Roach and Ellen Mae Hayes Roach. She married the love of her life Merle E. McLean in 1960. She worked in clerical positions and was a proud business owner most recently owning and operating McLean Rental in Galena with her husband Merle. She was a devoted mother, amateur historian, motorcyclist and had the heart of a lioness who stood fearless in the face of opposition.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a son, Merle E. McLean, Jr., and a grandson, Martin Dean Elder.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Merle Edward McLean of Galena, son, Eric Mallatt of Galena; daughter, Laura Elder of Grand Junction, Colorado; sisters, Janet Brewer of Joplin, Elizabeth Lake of Galena; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be August 5th with potluck to follow at 11am located 10420 SE Boston Mills Rd Galena, Kansas 66739. Bring covered dish, drink and lawn chair
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
