Carolyn Sue Schmidt, age 74, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born April 15, 1944 in Christopher, Illinois the daughter of Charlie and Bertha (Goff) Issler. On July 21, 1982 she was united in marriage to Gene Schmidt, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, LaDonna Kasperski and her husband Jeff of Carthage, Missouri, Linda Dowdy of Shell Knob, Missouri and Vicky Long and her husband Mike of Vail, Arizona; one brother, Ricky Issler of Purdy, Missouri; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Carolyn and Gene moved to Shell Knob in 1982 where they owned and operated Pioneer Cleaning. She had also been employed at Wal-Mart. Carolyn was a Christian and loved all her family, including her dogs and she especially loved her grandkids. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading, sewing, fishing, Shakin’ in the Shell and going on outings with her brother.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 15, 2018 at Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. Pastor Bob Gaddis will conduct the services.
