Norma Sullivan

(From Buchanan Funeral Home)

Norma Sue Sullivan, 78, of Monett, MO went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 22, 2018, while at her home. She was comforted with her family at her side.

Sue was born on October 25, 1939 in Monett, MO, daughter of the late Warren Roscoe Myers and Emma Ruth (Dinan) Myers. At the age of 18, Sue was saved and baptized by Reverend Larry Copley at Temple Baptist Church in Monett. Sue was a 50-year member of Temple Baptist Church and presently a member of New Site Baptist Church in Monett.

Sue had worked for the Sarago Manufacturing Company in Pierce City for several years as well as Jumping Jacks Shoe in Monett, Mo. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking for the family, and getting out the toughest of stains from the grandkids clothes. Nothing brought her more joy than seeing the smiles on her great-grandchildren’s faces.

On March 6, 1959, Sue married Jimmie Sullivan. To this union, three children were born. They were blessed with over fifty-eight years of wonderful memories made together.

Sue is survived by two daughters, Deborah Collins, of Springfield, MO and Rebecca Sullivan, of Granby, MO; one brother, Pat Myers, of Pierce City, MO; four grandchildren, Nicole, Nathan, Mackenzie and Luke; five great-grandchildren, Blaine, Mollie, Landon, Sydnee and Emma; as well as a host of family and friends that will dearly miss her.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Roscoe and Emma Ruth Myers; and one daughter, Teresa Sullivan. Sue was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Sullivan. Since Papaw’s departure from this earth to his Heavenly Father 17 months ago, Sue’s desire to be reunited with her lifelong companion and her daughter, Teresa, has come to pass. Her faith has now become sight as she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monett. Reverend Aaron Weibel will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels or Berean Christian Academy in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
